Executive Chef Annabelle Leslie
While growing up in Montreal, Quebec, Annabelle Leslie was exposed to a variety culturally diverse cuisine but it wasn't until she moved to the Caribbean where she tapped into her love of the culinary craft. An avid, ocean-going sailor, Annabelle was able to combine her love of boats with her passion for food and worked with an eclectic group of French chefs aboard some of the region's most luxurious, corporate yachts.
After 4 ½ years of sailing through the Caribbean and South West Indies Annabelle decided to pursue another love – skiing. Naturally, her next stop was Whistler, BC, where she cooked in several, award-winning, fine dining establishments.
As the Executive Chef at Cardero's Restaurant in Coal Harbour from the day they opened their doors in 1997, Annabelle saw Cardero’s become a renowned, award-winning, high volume restaurant in downtown Vancouver. After 13 years at Cardero’s, she has now embraced the next chapter in her career as the Executive Chef at the Teahouse Restaurant in Stanley Park.
Annabelle Leslie was the deserving recipient of the City of Vancouver's 2011 Mayor's Arts Award for the Culinary Arts.
