Executive
Chef, Annabelle Leslie
At the helm of one of Vancouver’s busiest
eateries, Annabelle Leslie has been leading the
charge in the kitchen of Cardero’s since
the restaurant opened in 1997.
While growing up in Montreal, Quebec, Annabelle
was exposed to a variety culturally diverse cuisine
but it wasn’t until she moved to the Caribbean
where she tapped into her love of the culinary
craft. An avid, ocean-going sailor, Annabelle
was delighted to combine her love of boats with
her passion for food and worked with an eclectic
group of French chefs aboard some of the region’s
most luxurious yachts.
After 4 1⁄2 years of sailing through the
Caribbean and South West Indies, Annabelle decided
to pursue another love – skiing. Her next
stop... Whistler, British Columbia where she became
the chef at Christine’s, an award winning
diner on top of Blackcomb Mountain.
It wasn’t long before she was recruited
to head up the kitchen of a new restaurant opening
in Vancouver’s Coal Harbour Marina –
Cardero’s. Surrounded by yachts, and with
a view of the North Shore Mountains, Annabelle
was finally home.
Constantly seeking perfection, Annabelle not only
leads her staff through some of the highest volumes
in Vancouver, but also donates her time to give
back to the community.
